Hi, I’m Brooke
Founder, Storyteller & Champion of Local
I’m an Eastern Kentucky storyteller, content creator, and business professional with a lifelong passion for helping people tell their stories.
That passion began when I was young as a student in Appalshop’s Appalachian Media Institute, where I learned that the stories of our communities deserve to be documented, celebrated, and shared. I later graduated from Morehead State University, building on that foundation through communications, media, and storytelling.
Where Storytelling Meets Strategy
Throughout my professional career, I have served in leadership roles across product management, project management, and learning and development. My experience includes working as a Product Manager, Director of Project Management, ScrumMaster, and Director of Learning and Development.
I’ve helped build and launch digital products, learning programs, operational systems, and high-impact initiatives—including the SafeSchools learning management platform and the TopstepX trading platform. I also established a project management function, supported cross-functional technology teams, created employee and customer education programs, and helped turn big ideas into meaningful experiences.
At the heart of every role has been the same thing: understanding people, recognizing what matters to them, and finding the best way to tell their story.
Why I Created Brooke Finds Local
Brooke Finds Local was created to shine a positive light on the people, places, and small businesses that make our communities special.
Through thoughtful videos, honest conversations, and a genuine curiosity about the people behind each business, I share the local stories you won’t always find on a map. What began as a passion project has grown into an official LLC, a thriving online community, and a platform that helps local businesses reach new audiences.
My work has also gained national recognition, including being featured by The Daily Signal—but the greatest accomplishment is hearing that someone discovered a new business, visited a community, or felt proud to see their hometown represented.
Let’s Tell a Story Together
Are you a small-business owner with a story to share? Do you have a local place you think I should visit? Are you interested in a partnership, collaboration, speaking opportunity, or professional project?
I would love to hear from you.
Let’s connect, get curious, and help more people discover what makes our communities worth celebrating.
Local People. Real Stories.
